camping chairs

Ahhh. Is there anything more important than a camping chair? As much as we love hard, wooden church benches, it’s nice to retreat to an actually COMFORTABLE place to sit when you’re camping. Isn’t the whole point of camping to relax? Here are some of our favorites.

Lippert Big Bear Chair

We think this is an ultimately comfortable chair for one, with room for an optional dog or maybe two. Thickly padded and VERY roomy. It’s definitely a little bulkier for packing, but it’s bulk you’re going to love. And, with a 400 lb. weight capacity, you can sit with confidence, while holding a big bag of potatoes, or two.

Lafuma Reclining Chair

Ok, wait - before you fall in love, you should know TWO THINGS. First, this is a very comfy, zero-gravity type recliner, so you can drift off into some serious time floating with pandas and bears in a semi-comatose state. Second, this is NOT a convenient, fold-down chair. Sure, it folds a little bit, but not much, so you’ll need to make sure you have room and an understanding that this kind of comfort comes at a packing and storage price. If you can pay it, then make sure you don’t fall asleep in direct sun.

KingCamp Oversize Padded Heavy Duty Camping Chair

Do you need more comfort and support, while still enjoying a handy cooler pouch for your apple juice cans? The KingCamp Oversize Padded Heavy Duty Camping Chair is for you. Built for comfort and durability with quilted double-layer padding, wide aluminum armrests, and a heavy-duty steel frame, it supports up to 353 lbs. A zippered insulated cooler pocket and extra storage keep essentials within reach, while the quick-fold design and carry bag make it easy to take anywhere. Perfect for RV life, van life, or lounging by the fire.

The KingCamp Butterfly Chair combines ergonomic design with modern style. Its reclined, high backrest supports the spine’s natural curve, while the thick hollow cotton seat offers a plush, cushioned feel. The Butterfly Chair has no arms, kind of like it has no rules. You can come and go as you please or move around as you wish. We think this is best suited to the more slender camper, but who says you have to listen to what we think? Find one, try it out, then decide for yourself.
